The first session of Wikisource Loves Manuscripts Philippines 2026 was successfully conducted at the Public Good Library (PGL). Now on its third year, the campaign focuses on digitizing out-of-copyright Filipiniana materials.
Participants comprising architecture students from the University of Nueva Caceres and the Southeast Asian University of Technology were introduced to Wikisource and the Wikipedia Library. They were encouraged to join upcoming proofreading sessions at the University of Nueva Caceres Museum, Bicol Guerilla Museum and Raul S. Roco Library.
The campaign launch was graced by Naga City librarian Mr. Riko Vinluan, Nueva Caceres Heritage Movement, Inc. president Ar. Josenia Baldoza-Merencillo, and former city councilor Bernadette Florendo Roco who is the current board secretary of PhilWiki Community.
In 2023, Bikol Wikipedia Community, NCHMI and PhilWiki Community signed an agreement to collaborate with university libraries and museums to promote Wikisource as a repository of historical and literary publications.
PGL is an independent, community-driven street and reading library in Naga City. It focuses on sharing pre-loved books and promoting free, accessible reading and local cultural heritage events.
