The PhilWiki Community is excited to announce that we are now accepting applications from passionate, outcome-driven individuals for the Hablon-usipon Children’s Book Translation Workshop. This unique opportunity is aimed at individuals who have a strong interest in children’s literature and a commitment to preserving and promoting local languages and cultures.

Interested individuals are encouraged to submit a letter of intent alongside their sample works by the deadline of May 31, 2025. In your letter, please outline your motivations for participating in the workshop, any relevant experience in translation, and how you believe your contributions can help enhance the workshop and its outcomes.

We are thrilled to offer this program at no cost to ten (10) selected individuals, providing a remarkable opportunity for those eager to improve their skills while contributing to a significant cultural initiative. The translation workshop will be held in the vibrant city of Naga from June 11 to 12, 2025, which is a great setting to foster collaboration and creativity.

The primary goal of the inaugural translation workshop is to produce culturally relevant materials for language resources that will be shared under Creative Commons. These materials will be made available through the innovative StoryWeaver platform, supporting a diverse array of readers and helping to ensure that local stories reach a broader audience. This initiative represents a collaborative effort between the PhilWiki Community, the dedicated members of the Parasurat Bikolnon, and the San Miguel Bay Writers Workshop. Together, we are committed to enriching our communities through literature and translation, and we hope to see many talented individuals apply for this wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact.
