Today marks the first anniversary of CBSUA Wiki Education, a joint program of the International Relations Office of CBSUA-Calabanga and the PhilWiki Community and Bikol Wikipedia Community. It is the first of its kind in the Philippines.

Since signing of the activity agreement, we have collaborated in numerous projects, online and offline. Last May 2024, six students finished the Wiki OJT while during the 2nd LitFest: Festival of Ideas – the interns organized the Translating Wiki articles and Writing Wiki Articles. In June, a total of twenty students from the College of Education and Arts and Sciences received a certification from the Wiki Education Philippines for successfully completing the Wikipedia Training Course covering topics such as Basic Overview of Wikipedia’s Core Policies and Guidelines, Editing Basic Sources and Citations, Plagiarism and Copyright Violation, Contributing Images and Media Files, and Translating Articles.

From July-August 2024, during the Bikol Wikisource Training of Trainers, nineteen CBSUA students along with other participants from University of Nueva Caceres and Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, underwent capacity building activities and collaborated with heritage, language and cultural professionals in building an open library using Wikisource as a platform.

To date, Wiki Club CBSUA has twenty-one members comprised of alumni, faculty members, non-teaching staff and students from 3 campuses. Six of its members received conference scholarship and actively participated at the GLAM Wiki Conference PH 2024 held last September 20-22, 2024 in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
