Public school teachers including some participants at the Bikol WikiConference and WikiCommons PH Conference held last year attended their first Wiki meet up. The meeting led to the formation of Wiki Club Minalabac.
The Wiki meet up held at Cocoland Farm and Resort in Bagolatao, Minalabac, Camarines Sur was organized by PhilWiki Community as follow up activity of the In-service Training of Teachers wherein Bikol Wikipedia admin Irvin Sto. Tomas discussed the utilization of Wikimedia in class.
The attendees elected Nora Rejalde of Antipolo Elementary School (AES) as the club president while MaryGrace Valencia of Malitbog Elementary School was chosen as the vice president. Rose Ann Navales and Janice Penetrante also from AES, and Shyrel Jacobe from Magadap Elementary School were appointed secretary, treasurer and auditor, respectively.
In 2015, during its initial period of recognition as a user group, PhilWiki Community distributed offline Wikipedia at Minalabac Central School. A total of twenty-five (25) dvd copies were donated to 25 public elementary schools in Minalabac, Camarines Sur during a district conference attended by school principals.
